Some might say I spend too much time online.
Fuck the nay sayers.
Here is my evidence to support my claim that the internet is probably one of the most unusual and interesting tools that man will ever have:
Alright, so seriously this dude BREAKS into an apartment and tries to rape some girl and her brother comes and scares him off. I mean, that alone is the kind of news that you need to hear because a) lock your windows bitches and b) yay for heroic men in our lives, whoever they are! I love hearing stories about how men have thwarted evil doers because it conjures up images of knights in polished armor atop horses.
Ok, Exhibit B:
Ok, first let me say how much I LOVE Auto-Tune The News. It’s just a perfect example of something so absolutely genius that, without the internet, would never have had wheels, you know? If you’ve never seen Auto-Tune The News, you’ve got to start tuning in. They take clips from a week’s worth of news, run all the voices through an auto-tune machine which gives them the freedom to then change the inflection of a voice and make it sound like they’re singing. The results are almost always hilarious.
And this example, taking this really fucked up situation where a dude broke into a woman’s room and tried to rape her — I mean, the GALL! And retooling it, retouching it and making it not only funny but entertaining and awesome without loosing any of it’s original sting. Yay for justice!
We gon’ find you.
Exhibit C: (When it all comes full circle)
Gah, there is something about marching band music that will always bring me back to high school and football games and the camaraderie. Listening to the boom of the drums and click of the sticks just makes my body want to move and sway and be happy. And this band, a college band, being able to take something like this little silly clip that was made from some little crazy news clip and turn it into a really fucking incredible song that clearly, stirs everyone to their feet and then some.
Kudos to that band director for seeing something on the internet that was the shit and pulling it back down to earth and making it real again.
