If you plan on being all sexty with somebody, maybe um… charge your phone first.
My bad. Last message sent at 11:20 and then… it just powered down. Dammit.
In other news, Anna got in yesterday afternoon. I’m SO happy she’s here and seriously, thanks Atlanta for being awesome so far. The weather is perfect!
I picked her up at the airport and we headed over to Devon’s house. Devon and her boyfriend are being gracious hosts for us, love those two. Seriously.
Anna and I stole off for a bit to get a beer and see L5P and then we met back up with Devon and her kids for dinner at La Fonda. (I LOVE THAT PLACE!) Then we came home and had several cocktails, some sweet tea vodka with lemon something or another. I don’t know, Devon made ’em. They were super tasty. I had to go to bed earlier than the rest of the clan because I had to work this morning (grrrrroan) but only for a few hours.
And then… the fucking smoke alarm. OMG. It was chirping. And it was IN OUR ROOM. We’re all the way down in the basement, so neither Devon or Bob knew anything about it. I think Anna and I were both pretty tired and pretty drunk because we were not very proactive in trying to get it to shutthefuckup. At one point, Anna got up and took the battery out and … that didn’t help. I recall rolling over and huffing, “Have you tried throwing a shoe at it?”
So it was chirping all night. ALL NIGHT. I mean, not that it really disturbed my sleep, it was just annoying as hell. I can sleep through anything. In fact, from what I hear, I was quite the cuddly spooner last night (sorry Anna).
Devon came in to wake me up for work this morning and was like, “Oh my gosh! I’m so sorry!” And within minutes the chirping was no more. THANK GOD.
On the docket for Day 2:
Lunch and then ROLLER SKATING with all the kidlets (Bob’s girls are in town this weekend, and Devon’s daughter is bringing a friend). I am unreasonably excited about roller skating.
Then, we’ll come home. Maybe go have sushi with some of my friends for dinner. And then… DANCING. Well, for me, more like booty grinding in the air. I don’t think what I do can really count as dancing because… It’s hilarious to watch. But whatevs… When I’m feelin’ it, I’m feelin’ it.
I’m sure there will be more pictures. YAY! So happy Anna is here. Fun, fun, fun.
